A Typical Day at Joyful Journey Childcare
Our daily schedule at Joyful Journey Childcare is thoughtfully crafted to provide a balanced day of learning, play, and rest. Each day begins with a warm welcome, where children are encouraged to engage with their peers and their environment. This is followed by a structured morning circle time that includes songs, stories, and discussions about the day ahead. From each child's arrival to 9:00 AM, children participate in a variety of activities that promote social skills and emotional development. Our morning activities are interspersed with opportunities for free play, allowing children to explore their interests and build friendships. As we transition from morning to mid-day, children enjoy a nutritious snack at 9:00 AM to refuel their energy for the engaging activities ahead.
Structured Learning Through Play
Following our morning sessions, the schedule includes dedicated time for play-based learning, which is at the heart of our educational philosophy. From 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, children participate in hands-on activities that promote cognitive and physical development. This may include arts and crafts, sensory play, and big body movement. Our teachers facilitate these activities, encouraging children to ask questions, experiment, and collaborate with their peers. After this enriching playtime, children gather for lunch from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, where they learn about healthy eating habits and practice social skills by sharing meals together. Post-lunch, we incorporate quiet nap time and relaxation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, allowing children to recharge for an afternoon filled with more exploration.
Afternoon Adventures and Parent Engagement
In the afternoon, our schedule includes a variety of themed learning activities that align with our play-based curriculum. From 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, children are engaged in structured group activities and individual projects/centers that inspire creativity and critical thinking. At 3:00 PM we all gather back together for our last snack of the day. Our day concludes with a closing circle from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, where children reflect on their day and share their experiences with friends and teachers. After 4:00 PM we enjoy free play until we go home. We actively encourage parent engagement through regular updates and communication about their child's progress and daily activities, allowing families to stay connected to their child's joyful journey.
